Emma
This part of the series is about Emma, her tattoos and what they mean to her. When interviewed, Emma spoke to me about each of her tattoos but the one that I found most interesting was the one on her wrist. I wrote a poem to describe the story behind it, titled ‘3/7’.

“goodnight Emma” my father says to me,
“goodnight Emma,
Three,”
A secret language for us, just for him and me.
i look up at him, but what is more than 3?
how can I love you more than you love me?
i count my numbers, one two three,
“goodnight Dad,
Seven”,
7 for you, 3 for me.
